Taste of the Holidays at Washington Park

Before the 2019 Capital Holiday Lights in Washington Park officially begins, you can see the dazzling displays early by attending Taste of the Holidays, which consists of two events at the park's Lake House.

On November 23, sample your favorite local beverages at the Craft Beer, Wine & Spirits Festival. Then, on November 24, try amazing food from nearby restaurants at the Chili, Chowder & Soup Fest.

Wave to Santa Claus at the 2019 Schenectady Holiday Parade

One of the most highly anticipated holiday events each year in the Capital Region is the Schenectady Holiday Parade presented by the Daily Gazette. On November 23, dozens of parade floats, dancers, bands, vehicles, and attendees will travel through the city and kick off the holiday season.

Make sure you come by before the parade for a free Street Festival featuring face painting, balloon artists, live music, food vendors, crafters, and more family fun.

Now in its 72nd year, the Troy Turkey Trot has become a Thanksgiving Day tradition for runners and families in the Capital Region. Before all the turkey and stuffing, wake up early on November 28 and race throughout downtown Troy.
